::: Emergency Funds :::

To date, ATFL has awarded funding to rescue organizations in California, Colorado, Michigan, Arizona, Virginia, Wisconsin, Delaware, Kentucky and Washington State. ATFL is a year round funding source that awards monthly Emergency Funds to 501 (c) 3 rescue and retirement organizations that save, rehabilitate, re-train and adopt Off Track Thoroughbreds for a second career or retirement. If you are interested in applying for funding, please review our Guidelines and follow the instructions.

After the Homestretch requested funding for their horse Brads Storm Time. This 9 year old Off Track Thoroughbred raced at Del Mar, Fairplex, Fresno and Los Alamitos in California earning only $7,000. He was sold through an internet ad and was not being properly cared for. A concerned vet helped to get him to the rescue where they provided the food and care he was lacking. Over the past two years the rescue pulled him through founder and a bout of laminitis. Now Brads Storm Time is ready for a new job. After the Finish Line will award funds for 90 days of training.

Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue bid against a kill buyer at auction to save El Rojo Diablo. Rojo did not have a successful racing career at Del Mar or Fairplex Park. This 15 year old Off Track Thoroughbred only had $170 in earnings. “Rojo’s” reoccurring lameness issues prompted the rescue to have their veterinarian x-ray him. The x-rays showed substantial deterioration in the structures of the foot as well problems with the navicular bone and coffin joint. Their vet gave them two options: euthanizing the horse or attempting to rescue the foot with specialized treatments. Working with the vets, the rescue decided to give Rojo that one last chance he deserved and is hoping for the best. After the Finish Line will provide funding for Rojo’s treatments and diagnostics.

::: After the Finish Line Caps :::

After the Finish Line’s custom caps are available in green and pink and stone and black at the After the Finish Line store. Our canvas caps are one size with an adjustable metal clasp. They feature our service mark, "A 501 (c) 3 funding non-profit for rescued Thoroughbred ex-racehorses" and our website, www.afterthefinishline.org, on the back. All proceeds benefit the rescue, rehabilitation and re-training of Off Track Thoroughbreds. They only cost $20 + $5 shipping.

::: Donations :::

After the Finish Line was created to help Thoroughbreds that are not supported after their racing and breeding careers are over. Your donations will help save, rehabilitate and re-train Off Track Thoroughbreds for a second career or dignified retirement. We appreciate the donations we receive from supporters across the United States and encourage you to make a tax deductible donation to After the Finish Line.

Sincerely
